Fideo for $1 hmmmm Vermicelli

7 oz package of Vermicelli (Tierra Linda): $.39 at HEB
1/4 cup of tomato sauce
2 1/2 tsp of Chicken Bullion powder
1/2 tsp of ground cumin
1/4 tsp of pepper
1/4 tsp of garlic powder
1 1/2 tablespoon of cooking oil
4 cups of water


In a sauce pan set to medium high, add the cooking oil. Once hot, add your vermicelli, and stirring often until most of the Vermicelli has browned. Add all other ingredients and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to a low/medium setting, cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Turn off heat and let sit for 10 minutes to allow the vermicelli to continue to cook. Then Serve!

For a less soupy fideo reduce water by 1/2 cup. For a soupier fideo, remove from heat, uncover, and allow to continue cooking for the last 10 minutes.

Alternatives: Add chopped potatoes, or left overs like ground beef, chicken or vegetables.
