Califonia peaches $.88 a lb
Bring the following to a boil and make sure you are stirring often:
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of water
2 tablespoon of cornstarch

Remove from heat when it comes to a boil and add one package of peach jello mix. Mix well and let cool. While mixture is cooling, slice up fresh California peaches and lay them in a pie crust (store bought graham cracker crust or home made, all work fine). I would say about 4 large peaches (peeling is optional). Poor them mixture over the peaches, and refrigerate for about 2 hours.

Proctor & Gamble Coupon Use

So Sunday's paper had a lot of P&G coupons, and there were some i could use, and others I got creative with.

Coupon 1: Buy any Pantene shampoo and conditioner and get a Free styling or repair product.
Catch: I don't like Pantene shampoo much; however, their repair serum is nice but almost $6
Cleaver: I bought a trial size shampoo and conditioner (coupon had no restrictions on size) for $.97 each and got the repair serum ($5.98) free. I'll just add the trial products to my guest bathroom!

Coupon 2:buy one head and shoulders and get one free
I like head ans shoulders so i took advantage and bought the biggest size and got that same size for free, making each bottle 1/2 off. The coupon does not have limits so you could have bought the large size for almost $7, or the trial size for $.97 (plus the free one).

Coupon 3: $1 off any cover girl make up
Found a cover girl lip gloss on clearance for $1.99 with coupon it was $.99, making it a savings of over 90%. Win for me!

Coupon 4: $2 off any oil of olay body wash
Win: Walmart has a twin pack of Oil of Olay body wash for $5 on sale.
With coupon, that makes it $3 or $1.50 per body wash bottle, and anyone who knows their Oil of Olay, that's a steal!

Coupon 5: $1 off any "pack" of Oil of Olay body soap bars
I bought the two pack, the minimum $2 and change, well with the coupon, it came out to $1 and change. A win since I use it only to wash my face, and bar lasts 45 days plus.

Coupon 6: Herbal Essence $1 off, use it and get a regular bottle of shampoo as low at $1.60 or use it to get a "free" trial size. The coupon has no size limit.

The key is to recognize if coupons have size limits or not and to pair them with clearance or sale items when possible!

And if you collect enough trail product for free or really cheap, save them and donate them to shelters or make hygiene bags for the homeless.

HEB's ad was disappointing this week. But I'm hoping they will redeem themselves this Wed.

Don't forget however several of the stores have wine on clearance 1/2 off, and hit up the Las Palmas location, it's being remodel, so MARK DOWNS MARK DOWNS MARK DOWNS

Nestle Bottled Water 24 pack for $2.99

Walgreen's has a coupon for a 24 pack of bottle water (Nestle and other brands) for $3.99. Plus, log on an join Nestle's website, and get a printable coupon for $1.00 off. That's 24 bottles of water for $2.99.

Walgreen's allows for coupon stacking since you will be using one store coupon, and one manufacture coupon.

Oh, HEB, how do you disappoint me this week. I expected to see more combo locos/meal deals to reflect the holiday. More hot dog deals, burger deals, condiments, etc. The few that are on your ad are not very good. Also, why are you spending money printing "monthly values" when these are clearly everyday regular price items (most of them).

So today I will blog about every other ad and GREAT deals.

There are 3 Tyson product coupons in the paper to go along with the Tyson Combo Loco at HEB, save an additional $1.

There is a coupon, $1, off two Oscar Meyer Lunch Meat packages. Combine with the Oscar Meyer combo loco available until Tuesday of this week.

$2 off Cutter Insect Repellent, keep and eye out it should be coming out on sale real soon at HEB. If not, they are $4.99 at Walgreens this week, that means you get the products for $2.99 great buy for the summer.

Popeyes coupon for Customer Appreciation Special on June 8th only, 8 pcs chicken $3.99

Fideo for $1 hmmmm Vermicelli

7 oz package of Vermicelli (Tierra Linda): $.39 at HEB
1/4 cup of tomato sauce
2 1/2 tsp of Chicken Bullion powder
1/2 tsp of ground cumin
1/4 tsp of pepper
1/4 tsp of garlic powder
1 1/2 tablespoon of cooking oil
4 cups of water

In a sauce pan set to medium high, add the cooking oil. Once hot, add your vermicelli, and stirring often until most of the Vermicelli has browned. Add all other ingredients and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to a low/medium setting, cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Turn off heat and let sit for 10 minutes to allow the vermicelli to continue to cook. Then Serve!

For a less soupy fideo reduce water by 1/2 cup. For a soupier fideo, remove from heat, uncover, and allow to continue cooking for the last 10 minutes.

Alternatives: Add chopped potatoes, or left overs like ground beef, chicken or vegetables.

Mac N Cheese

Just saved $21.75 in coupons at HEB, my bill was $80 which includes $16 in Luv's Diapers, no coupon this time :(

The big win was a coupon from coupon.com, buy two Kraft Mac n Cheese individual cups and save $1. Cups are on sale for $.79 so they came out to $.29 per cup. Can't beat that! Perfect for sides or when I need to hold the kids over for lunch.

Print as many coupons as you need, I regret only having one :(
I can't believe I used to spend $200, cook less, and toss a lot more. It hurts me to know what I could have done with that money!

Recipe: Turkey Spaghetti Pie Serve with Salad you are buying above to get free water!
* 2 ounces uncooked spaghetti, broken in half
* 1 egg, lightly beaten
* 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
* 3 tablespoons sour cream
* 1/2 pound ground turkey
* 1/4 cup chopped green pepper
* 2 tablespoons chopped onion
* 1 teaspoon butter or margarine
* 1/3 cup tomato sauce
* 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
* 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
* salt and pepper to taste
* 1/3 cup shredded mozzarella cheese


DIRECTIONS

1. Cook spaghetti according to package directions; drain. In a bowl, combine the egg, Parmesan cheese and spaghetti. Press spaghetti mixture onto the bottom and up sides of a greased shallow 2-cup baking dish or 7-in. pie plate. Spread with sour cream.
2. Crumble turkey into a skillet; add the pepper, onion and butter. Cook over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in the tomato sauce, garlic salt, oregano, salt and pepper. Spoon into spaghetti crust. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Cover edges loosely with foil. Bake at 350 degrees F for 15-20 minutes or until heated through and cheese is melted. Serve immediately.

Refreshing Peach Pie (no bake)

Here is a really yummy recipe

Bring the following to a boil and make sure you are stirring often:
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of water
2 tablespoon of cornstarch

Remove from heat when it comes to a boil and add one package of peach jello mix. Mix well and let cool. While mixture is cooling, slice up fresh California peaches and lay them in a pie crust (store bought graham cracker crust or home made, all work fine). I would say about 4 large peaches (peeling is optional). Poor them mixture over the peaches, and refrigerate for about 2 hours.

You now have a super yummy refreshing pie! Top with Cool Whip!

Grocery Saving Tips: Full Chicken Meal for 4 under $3

Shop for Groceries either before 9 am or after 9:30 pm during the weekdays. You will often find chicken breast, season quarters, cubed stakes or other meats 1/2 off.

That's right, I often find chicken breasts for about $2.50 for 1.17 lbs. Just because it's reduce for "quick sale" doesn't mean it's bad. It simply means that it needs to be cooked or frozen by the the Sell By Date.

Recipe for family of 4-5 for under $3.

Cube your chicken breast (or thighs etc) that you found on "quick sale." Put 1 package of Tierra Linda spaghetti to cook ($.33 and follow package directions). In a sauce pan melt 2 tablespoons of butter, add 1 can of cream of mushroom (cream of celery or chicken will work too ($.65 HCF brand), and add 2/3 of a can of milk (use your cream of mushroom can etc to measure) to the mixture, then add your cooked chicken and let simmer slowly for 10 min. Drain your cooked pasta. Add the cream chicken over the Spaghetti.

Viola: a meal for $3 or $6 if you bought you chicken at regular price.

Options: top with HEB mozzarella cheese, or eat along with a ready mix HEB Salad
